So, I've been suffering from severe menstrual cramps for years and I hate taking pain pills for temporary relief. Over the years I've started to stress out even more over the question "Exactly how many more can my internal organs process?" I do not want to keep doing this so I came up with my own solution, a massage oil. This oil smells like an eclectic bouquet of flowers because of the mix of ingredients and has an almost immediate effect on headaches and stomach cramps. There is a strong concentration of oils that have anti-inflammatory properties that help alleviate symptoms associated with a variety of ailments and sudden minor injuries. These very same oils are natural analgesics to relieve joint and nerve pain as well. After massaging the oil into my stomach for about 3 minutes, I stopped feeling like there was a speculum stretching my lower region apart randomly. This, combined with the lack of curling up into the fetal position like a helpless baby, was evidence of progress to me. While I want to believe that I have invented the mother of all pain relievers, I know that I still need a bit more proof so I begin applying the oil to my shoulders and the back of my neck. I'm going to blame parenting on the amount of stress I carry in that area, but I felt some serious relief in my shoulders and less dull aching from just sitting at the table. While working on my posture might be the ultimate solve for this issue, the massage oil actually does some good there so I don't have to pay for my inability to sit up straight. Enough of my personal testimony, I'll just tell you more about the key ingredients in this mix. The first one I started with is geranium because it is so amazing! Aside from smelling amazing, it also targets all kinds of pain in your body including joint and muscle pain while alleviating inflammation. Adding bergamot, vetiver and eucalyptus for their ability to target nerve pain was the next step so this can also be an oil that's helpful for diabetics. Peppermint, lavender, chamomile and rosemary were added for their straight up pain relieving properties. Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of anti-inflammatory properties also present in these four additions but the need to relieve the pain is also imperative while giving the oil time to work on relaxing muscles and decreasing inflammation. I topped this off with a couple of tinctures and the ever-so-popular skin friendly coconut oil and have been applying it for cramps, headaches and muscle aches. Ingredients: Chamomile, Lavender, Peppermint, Eucalyptus, Rosemary, Clary Sage, Sandalwood, Frankincense, Yarrow Root Tincture, Cramp Bark tincture, Skullcap tincture, Vetiver, Helichrysum, Lemongrass, Geranium, Bergamot **Disclaimer: All ingredients are 100% organic.
