I've heard some critiques about soy wax and estrogen levels, but using a little on your lips isn't throwing your body chemistry off at all. The amount you would have to take in has to be so much more. SO worry not, this vegan alternative to beeswax is very safe and healthy for skin.
This is the recipe for a 100% organic lip balm made from soy wax (vegan alternative to beeswax), mango butter, sweet almond & coconut oils, tinted with Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics 100% vegan lip tars. The mango butter has vitamins A, C & E which help protect skin from sunburn, sooth sunburned skin & fight free radicals. Sweet almond oil acts as a skin friendly carrier for the essential oils added, but also contains vitamins A, E & D. It continues to be great for skin because it is also rich in oleic & linoleic acids.

If you can incorporate coconut oil into a recipe for hair, skin or nails; I highly suggest that you do. I also added essential oils to give some added benefits to each lip balm. Read here for an extended explanation of essential oils used in these lip balms and their benefits.
